Produced French version of documentary on the history of Canada’s space program, in association with the Canadian Space Agency. (2000)

Researched, produced, wrote and edited report on hydroelectric upgrades since the infamous ice storm of 1998, for Discovery’s nightly science program @discovery.ca (1999)

Researched, produced, wrote and edited report on the use of beetles to control ragweed for @discovery.ca (1998)

KAOS FILMS WORLDWIDE
Research, logistical arrangements and field production of Australian shoot for documentary film Ten Seconds of Eternity: The Sprint for Olympic Gold, which aired on NHK Japan and CBC. (2000)

Researcher for Our Grieving Hearts, a documentary about parents dealing with the death of their child. The film aired on CBC’s documentary program, Witness, Radio-Canada’s documentary program Zone Libre, and Women’s Television Network (WTN). (2001)

As a CBC journalist,14 awards for special reports and documentaries, including:

1995 New York International Film and Television Festival
• Bronze Medal for The Ilizarov Technique: a documentary about a dwarf who has his limbs stretched, in hope of one day leading a normal life.

1994 Canadian Nurses” Association National Health Reporting Competition for the Media
• Certificate of Merit for A Question of Life or Death: a documentary about the agonizing wait for donor organs, and strategies to increase organ donation.

1993 Columbus International Film and Video Festival
• Bronze Plaque (2nd Prize) for A Tragedy of Errors, an investigative documentary about the Quebec Public Curator’s tragic bungling of an elderly woman’s case. This report prompted a government investigation.

1992 Columbus International Film and Video Festival
• Bronze Plaque (2nd Prize) for Sound Effects, a documentary about a controversial treatment for autism.

1991 New York International Film and Video Festival
• Finalist Award for Struggle for Power, a five-part documentary series about the Cree of James Bay and their fight against further hydroelectric development.

1988 Atlantic Journalism Awards
• Citation of Merit for investigative report on a German businessman’s shady dealings in New Brunswick.

Education
Carleton University School of Journalism, Ottawa, Canada
Graduated in 1984 with Bachelor of Journalism, Highest Honours in Journalism and French. Kenneth R. Wilson Memorial Award for graduate showing “exceptional promise as a future reporter and interpreter of Canadian affairs.”
